Rainbows!

lampshade

I was going to show you some rejected phoenixes today but I came home and was not in a scanning mood so much as a let’s-make-a-lampshade-out-of-my-broken-umbrella mood, so… sorry?

But not actually sorry because I HAVE RAINBOWS ON MY CEILING! (And in the room, it’s not as dark as it looks. ^^)

Otto and Iris

In shining technicolour, woo! Otto was done just with the blend tool, then I figured out the dodge/burn tool for me. I even sort of figured out how to fix the guidelines for me (er,myself), though sadly I forgot to fix the hat placement before doing all the colouring in!

To compare:

Btw, is there a way of drawing straight lines on Gimp? Photoshop, I mean. I think they’re largely the same.

Colouring in

So … hooray for Photoshop attempts?  While the result is questionable, I have learned many things. Primarily that I have a *really* short attention span when it comes to clicking things and that I ought to get a functioning mouse; but also that layers really do make sense and that setting your view to ‘single pane window’ is an awesome thing when your toolbox somehow has wedged itself out of view and refuses to come back.

ANYWAY, here is my colouring in and a much nicer guestcolouringin below it by A Passing Boy, who does not like layers but is very good at clicking things. And using the Shade Tool.

Happy last Advent!

Apologies for the slapdashdoodle – but oh, it was brilliant, if I hadn’t been looking for somethinganything to colour in I would never have noticed the fold in the paper that looked exactly like a star and then the barn shape underneath! Even if I somewhat ruined the star when I coloured it in, it’s a good reminder to look closely at the cracks in pavements etc. ^_^

Woo Happy 2nd Advent

Do not let your advent be ruined by this terrible attempt at a Christmas wreath! It doesn’t look quite as bad as in the pictures, honest. Also much kudos to Mme A- for suggesting glasses as a thing which can be coloured in!
