Otto and Iris

In shining technicolour, woo! Otto was done just with the blend tool, then I figured out the dodge/burn tool for me. I even sort of figured out how to fix the guidelines for me (er,myself), though sadly I forgot to fix the hat placement before doing all the colouring in!

To compare:

Btw, is there a way of drawing straight lines on Gimp? Photoshop, I mean. I think they’re largely the same.

  1. Yay, shiny!

For straight lines in Photoshop I use the Marquee Tool (top right). Press and hold to decide on shape (rectangular/elliptical/single column) draw the line or shape you want by clicking and dragging (or just clicking for single column) then press alt+del to fill with colour. You can also remove parts of the selection by holding alt while clicking and dragging. Other than that I freehand. Hope that’s helpful 🙂 x

  2. Your drawings make me smile. There is something happy-cheeky about them. I was trying to do straight lines in photoshop the other day – no luck 😦

    1. Thank you so much, that is great to hear! As for straight lines, I had a comment saying to: “use the Marquee Tool (top left). Press and hold to decide on shape (rectangular/elliptical/single column) draw the line or shape you want by clicking and dragging (or just clicking for single column) then press alt+del to fill with colour. You can also remove parts of the selection by holding alt while clicking and dragging. ” I haven’t tried it yet but maybe it’ll work!! ^^
